Dr. Jamie Horvath is the proud owner and designer of Horvath Vision Care Northwoods, where our doctors and staff welcome 20 years of patients from our former Polaris Mall location. Opened in November of 2021, this spacious private practice has given us the opportunity to add valuable diagnostic and innovative treatment equipment in addition to an optical with over 1000 frames! Delivering eye care at the next level has been a dream of Dr. Horvath.
Dr. Jamie Horvath is the youngest of seven children and grew up in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Her dad was a proud steelworker at a time when “Made in the USA” thrived. She credits her parents for the Christian values they instilled in her as she grew up without extras but was loved abundantly.
After her undergraduate work at The Ohio State University, she went on to earn a Doctor of Optometry degree at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1994. Dr. Horvath is a therapeutically licensed optometrist with a special interest in contact lenses, and management of eye disease, namely: dry eye, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. As a dry eye patient herself, customizing dry eye treatment for patients has become a primary focus of Dr. Jamie. Finally being able to get to the root of dry eye, versus treating the symptoms, has been amazingly rewarding. By using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) equipment, her dry eye patients are finding long-term solutions without expensive, time-consuming drops.
Dr. Horvath has been an active participant in the One Sight Program providing complimentary eye care to those in need. She has also volunteered for kindergarten eye screenings, eye talks to children, Vision Van services, as well as educating the public at area community events. Dr. Horvath has lived in Lewis Center since 1999 where she and her husband, Mark, have raised their two children, Morgan and Grant. She is a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury where she is a Minister of Holy Communion. Although the least athletic in the family, she loves to exercise. In addition to volunteering with Meals on Wheels, cooking, eating at her favorite restaurants, and watching HGTV, she feels most blest spending time with her husband and children.
