After moving from Chillicothe to Upper Arlington in middle school, Dr. Leach completed her undergraduate degree with Honors in Spanish at Ohio State and then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2003, graduating cum laude. She then decided to further her optometry base of knowledge and expertise with two more years of specialized clinical training: she completed a geriatric primary care residency at the American Lake Veterans Hospital in Tacoma, Washington followed by pediatric training including treatment of binocular vision disorders with Dr. Karen Preston at Northwest Pediatric Eye Care in Bellevue, Washington. Dr. Leach was President of the Seattle-area King County Optometric Association in 2008 before she and her husband decided to return to family and raise their boys in central Ohio. She joined Horvath Vision Care in 2009, where she has been practicing full-scope primary care optometry for over 15 years.
Dr. Leach has special interests in cataract co-management and advanced contact lens fitting including scleral, multifocal, and myopia management contact lens designs. Dr. Leach is passionate about taking the time to fully listen to her patients with compassion, respect, and understanding. She believes in the importance of communication to ensure that her patients’ concerns are addressed, and their individualized needs are met.
Dr. Leach made the more unique choice of Spanish as her undergraduate degree because she thought it was important to be able to communicate to patients in their native language. She studied in a full immersion program for a summer at La Universidad De Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico and has traveled throughout Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. She keeps up with her speaking skills with weekly Spanish lessons and enjoys giving eye care to her Spanish speaking patients.
She is a firm believer in the power of the great outdoors for providing valuable live lessons for her boys and has been an active adult volunteer for Scouting America (formerly The Boy Scouts of America) for 13 years and counting. She was the Committee Chair for Dublin Cub Scout Pack 116 as well as St. Brigid catholic church’s Boy Scout Troop 117 Scoutmaster. As Scoutmaster, she helped support 22 Scouts achieve their Eagle Scout rank. Over the years, she has supported over 150 Boy Scouts on more than 30 outings and has completed over 80 camping nights. Dr. Leach achieved her own personal goal of climbing Mt. Rainier in Washington state and summitted the 14,410 ft. peak with her husband and older son on August 1, 2025. She also helps give back to the community by volunteering with the Ohio Optometric Association’s Realeyes youth outreach eye education program. She resides in Dublin with her husband, Matt, who is a water treatment engineer at Wade Trim, and their two sons, Henry and Wyatt.
